I really liked the Chicago based group Cocain 80‘s mixtape Ghost Lady. Their recent track “Take My Keys” follows the same formula of intricate and well paced production by No I.D. along with smooth vocals – very unique sound.
Big K.R.I.T: Yeah Dats Me
We are quickly approaching the June 5th release date of Big K.R.I.T.‘s first Def Jam studio album Live From The Underground. If you needed any reassurance that K.R.I.T. was gonna bring his usual trunk rattling energy and super fast southern flow just crank up your bass and hit play on his new track “Yeah Dats Me”.
DIPLO FT. LAZERDISK PARTY SEX – SET IT OFF

One of my favorite producers to date, Diplo is getting prepared to release his EP Express Yourself. Even though he has been showing off his talent in other ways, Diplo has not put together an album since 2004 when he released ‘Florida.’ His newest track, “Set It Off” features Lazerdisk Party Sex, which flares a bangin moombahton beat, and after hearing this, I would be lying if I said I wasn’t looking forward to this upcoming EP. Whenever I see his Blow Your Head monthly mix series is released, I quickly grab my computer to check it out. You can be assured that when his EP drops June 12th, I will be one of the first to get it. Expect to see some star studded collaborations on this one.
Spotlight: ENZ and The SuperCloud Gang
One of the coolest things about SwagSounds growing in popularity is that we have been able to connect with some incredibly talented rising artists from different parts around the globe. Meet UK rapper ENZ who is part of British rap group the SuperCloud Gang. I think you’ll love their music video for “Holla” above and dig the beautiful vocals of songstress Claudia Jessie. I picked my two favorite tracks by them which you can check out below and head towards their soundcloud page to hear all their swag.
Frank Ocean: Thinking About You (Styles and Complete Remix)
Styles & Complete transformed one of my all time favorite Frank Ocean cuts “Thinking About You” (which is nearly perfect to begin with) by adding a layer of dubstep. Unlike most remixes that try to do too much to the original and ruin its beautiful simplicity (especially in the R&B genre) this remix keeps the bass rattler in check and the result is definitely worth a spin.
Kanye West and GOOD Music Announce Cruel Summer 7 Screen Experience
Kanye West has confirmed that the upcoming G.O.O.D. Music mega album will be titled “Cruel Summer” and while details surrounding the project’s release have yet to be revealed, Kanye has announced that the album will relate to a movie and art exhibit. The film is scheduled to be presented in Cannes on May 23rd and will encompass a 7 screen visual experience (recall Kanye’s 5 month old twitter rant about creating a 7 screen movie experience). The My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy accompanied film was pretty sweet and the album was incredible, so if this cinematic direction for “Cruel Summer” means that Kanye is working on that same artistic level then this G.O.O.D. Music album might actually live up to the hype (or dare I say surpass it).
Curren$y: Capitol ft. 2 Chainz
Curren$y hooks up with buzz rapper of the month 2 Chainz for the latest leak off his upcoming album The Stoned Immaculate due out June 5th. As always, Spitta delivers a gust of witty rhymes and fresh production. Pre-order The Stoned Immaculate today and support real talent.
T.I. – LIKE THAT

Looks like T.I. is back with a vengeance this time igniting some dirty south passion in his newest hit, “Like That.” I didn’t know what to expect as his previous leak, “Love This Life” wasn’t exactly what I was hoping for, but he’s back to his typical swag on this one. Enjoy some new T.I. as he lays a fluttering beat before his smooth rhymes.
SPOTLIGHT: FLUME

Flume is one of Sydney, Australia’s bright upcoming artists. Currently signed to Future Classic’s record label this 19 year old has a distinct style that consists of a vast array of different synths leaving you guessing at every note to come. It looks like we share a very common interest as he enjoys incorporating a lick of bass to his music. You can check out some of my favorite tracks of his below and if your feeling his music, head over to his soundcloud here to stream and download the rest of his goodies.
